Category Client Longtime Sundance Client Location Massillon, OH Project Summary To design and install a fully wired, Dolby Atmos–ready home theater in a new construction home — built around the client’s personally selected AV equipment.
Theater Wiring & Rough-In Coordination
Custom Rack Design & Equipment Integration
Projector + Large-Format Screen Setup
This is a dedicated basement theater designed for immersive movie nights, powered by a 13.2 surround system, a large-format projector, and a precisely configured equipment rack.
This project started with a blank slate — a new home in Massillon, Ohio and a client who knew exactly what he wanted from his entertainment space. As a longtime Sundance customer and a dedicated movie collector, he handpicked each piece of gear and asked Sundance to engineer a system that brought all the components together with professional precision. Coordinated with the Build Timeline Working with Rembrandt Homes, Sundance handled the full rough-in phase:Dolby Atmos speaker wiringProjector conduit + ceiling mountingRack and power routing placementTiming mattered — the client was just weeks away from move-in, so all wiring and placements needed to be completed before drywall for a clean, seamless finish. System Integration That Brings It All Together Once the space was ready, Sundance returned for the final install and calibration. The homeowner provided his preferred hardware; Sundance engineered the layout and optimized the system for performance and usability.
Atmos Engineered for the Room
One amplifier system, tuned perfectly to the acoustics, drives the multi-level speaker layout — producing the kind of directional audio you only get in purpose-built theaters.
Optimized Projection Path
With correct throw distance, height, and ventilation clearances, the projector delivers consistent 4K performance that fills the room without distortion or washout.
Centralized AV Management
The pre-amp streamlines navigation between sources, applying the right decoding, upmixing, and output settings to match exactly what the homeowner wants to watch.
The Finished Theater The completed system includes:A 13.2 Dolby Atmos surround layoutA ~150" projection screenSeven dedicated theater seatsClean, serviceable cable managementReliable power conditioning and switchingThe homeowner loved the final result — especially seeing the system he designed come to life exactly as intended. You’ve got walls going up. Framing’s almost done. Everything’s on schedule — until you realize there’s no plan for where the cameras go. Or how power gets to the TVs. Or how access control fits into the layout. That’s when things start getting expensive. At Sundance, we’ve been on both sides of the timeline: the proactive installs that go smooth as butter, and the ones where we’re fishing wires through finished drywall. Spoiler alert: earlier is always better. Why Early Planning Matters
Smarter Decisions
Plan around real needs — not leftover space.
Cleaner Wiring
Hide the hardware and avoid cutting into walls later.
Fewer Redos
Skip the stress of rework or schedule delays.
Case in Point: A Commercial Venue Done Right When a local franchise owner asked us to outfit his new pickleball and event space, he didn’t wait until the floors were finished. He brought us in before drywall — when we could still walk the space, talk through ideas, and coordinate with other trades. That meant:Camera wires got tucked away, not surface-mountedTVs were centered and powered where they actually made senseAccess control worked with the natural flow of the spaceNothing had to be cut, patched, or forced after the fact

What’s the right time to call in Sundance?
As soon as you’re designing floor plans or talking to contractors. We can help flag wiring needs and advise on placement while things are still flexible.
I already have walls up — is it too late?
Not at all. We work around finished spaces all the time. It just means we may need to get a little creative (and break out the fish tape).
Can you coordinate with my general contractor?
Yes — and we prefer it that way. The earlier we can talk as a team, the smoother things go.
